An exciting vacancy exists for two suitably qualified Drivers to join the Maintenance and Engineering department at Bram Fischer International Airport.
Key Performance Outputs
The successful candidate, reporting to the Manager Maintenance Engineering will be responsible for the following: 
  • Conduct daily inspections on all department vehicles and other equipment to ensure the road worthiness, serviceability and operational readiness including fuelling as per scheduled intervals.
  • Store all maintenance equipment safely and ensure all department vehicles, other maintenance machinery and workstations are cleaned on a regular basis.
  • Drive the tractor and all department vehicles for operations.
  • Operate runway and all sweeping machines.
  • Perform daily cleaning maintenance operations by driving the refuse removal vehicles.
  • Assist in other maintenance activities as requested and instructed by surface maintenance Department Head.
  • Report any accidents and incidents involving all department vehicles.
  • Report any non-compliance on all department vehicles.
  • Update logbooks as and when required.
  • Liaise and engage with internal stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient operations.
  • Adhere to relevant legislation, regulations, standards, codes and company policies and procedures.

Technical Skills and Experience

The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such, will be required: 
  • A valid Matric (Grade 12) qualification or equivalent prior learning and experience, based on job requirements within the position.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in maintenance or operations within the facilities environment.
  • Valid Code C1 driver’s license.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word and Outlook).
  • Knowledge of airport environment.
This position calls for a candidate who communicates well     verbally, someone who is customer-centric, is tactful and can communicate in a non-confrontational and polite manner. The ideal candidate must also have good planning skills.
