About Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality:
The Buffalo City Municipal Council serves as the ultimate political decision-making body of the municipality, with Ward Councillors acting as the primary link between the municipal government and residents. The Executive Mayor of Buffalo City Metro holds overall strategic and political responsibility for the city, while the City Manager oversees the city’s administration. Department heads and officials are responsible for the physical implementation of policies.
Job Requirements:
- Grade 10
- Surf Proficiency Award certificate
- Valid retest certificate
- One (1) year of relevant lifesaving experience
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Rescuing drowning individuals
- Patrolling City beaches to assess local conditions
- Providing first aid to the injured and addressing necessary injuries
- Operating rescue equipment, including inflatable boats
