- Specialist Scientists X2 (5 years contract)
Requirements
- MSc or M Tech degree with at least 15 years relevant experience
- PhD or D Tech degree with at least 10 years relevant experience
- Professional Natural Scientist (Pr.Sci.Nat.) registration with SACNASP
- NRF Rating will be an added
- Proven working experience in the interpretation and application of geoscientific mapping methodologies and mineral systems in economic geology and geochemistry context;
- Proven working experience in the interpretation and application of geoscience data;
- Practical exposure in the application of Economic Geology and Geochemistry tools and software;
- Practical exposure and extensive experience in working in the geoscience environment;
- In-depth knowledge of geological and geophysical, measurements, recording, processing, representation of data;
- Competent in research on big data and data analytics in the geo-scientific environment;
- In-depth understanding and knowledge of complex geoscientific investigations and research independently within varied fields;
- Proficiency in conducting advanced geoscientific research within the marine environment;
- Proficient in compilation and high level editing of geo-scientific reports ad maps.
- Proficient in conducting advanced interpretation, evaluation and assessment of research data.
- Ability to evaluate and assess research work and reports of interns and junior scientists;
- Able to compile and present geo-scientific research investigations at national forums and international forums.
- Ability to develop and present geo-scientific project proposals.
- Ability to mentor and coach other scientists and project team members.
- Ability to implement ISO certification processes and standards
