The Bioprocess Development research team within the Chemicals Cluster at CSIR is offering internship opportunities for graduates. The purpose of these internships is to provide practical work experience to individuals who will be involved in researching and developing competitive technologies and innovative products. This will be done under the guidance of experienced researchers and engineers who are part of cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

During the internship, under supervision, you will be responsible for:

  • Analyzing and interpreting experimental results
  • Preparing technical reports
  • Operating bioreactor preparation (ranging from 10L to 1000L), monitoring, and sampling
  • Contributing to the planning and execution of experiments
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures
  • Contributing to laboratory inventory management
  • Overseeing and maintaining the laboratory
  • Preparing chemical and biological agents
  • Conducting routine general microbiology tasks, including cell enumeration and streak/spread plating

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A National Diploma in mechanical engineering
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including the MS Office Package
  • A practical, hands-on approach to equipment operation and laboratory work
  • Willingness and ability to work shifts (morning, afternoon, or night)
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
