Midvaal Local Municipality is hiring and invites suitably qualified persons to apply for the vacancy: Temp Fire Fighters[x17 posts].
Salary: R 7,888.67 per month (R 94,664.00 per annum) for a 3-year contract.
Location: Midvaal Local Municipality, which is one of three local municipalities within the Sedibeng District Municipality, situated in the Southern region of Gauteng Province, South Africa.
Duties:
- Responding to daily tasks and orders from the Station Officer.
- Vehicle and equipment testing and checking.
- Cleaning of equipment and vehicles.
- Reporting any malfunctions to the officer on duty.
- Assisting with firefighting activities, including combatting fires, adhering to command on scenes, and protecting property.
- Attending to control room duties when required.
- Carrying out rescue work.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent NQF 3 qualification.
- Firefighter 1 & 2 Hazmat Awareness.
- First aid level 3 or Basic Ambulance Course (registered with the HPCSA) is an added advantage.
- Code C Driver’s License.
- Must be medically and physically fit for operational duties.
- Must be able to swim.
- Should not suffer from any phobias (e.g., claustrophobia, acrophobia).
- Experience or knowledge regarding fire and rescue will be an added advantage.
- A hardworking and self-disciplined person.
- 3 months internship experience is a plus.
