Northern Cape Department of Transport, Safety and Liaison is hiring and invites suitably qualified persons to apply for the vacancy: Trainee Provincial Inspectors [x25 posts].

Job Title: Trainee Provincial Inspectors (x25 posts)

Stipend: R7,000 per month during the probation period

Centres:

  • 16× Wardens [per 4 Weighbridge Stations (Kimberley, Springbok, Upington, and Colesberg) Ref: S4.08/01]
  • 3× Wardens at Mothibistad Traffic station: Ref: S4.08/02
  • 2× Wardens at Olifants hoek Traffic Station: Ref: S4.08/03
  • 2× Wardens at Jan Kempdorp Traffic Station: Ref: S4.08/04
  • 1× Warden at Road and Safety Education Head Office Ref: S4.08/05
  • 1× Warden at Law Enforcement Statistics Head Office Ref: S4.08/06

Requirements:

  • Senior Certificate (Matric)
  • Valid Code 8 Driver’s License – Manual Transmission
  • No criminal record – Successful applicants will undergo a full SAPS clearance before assumption of duty
  • Applicants must not be older than 35 years of age

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operating weighbridges
  • Law enforcement support
  • Law enforcement administration
  • Other station operations as determined by respective supervisors

About the Trainee Provincial Inspector Programme: Successful applicants will be appointed as a Trainee Provincial Inspector for a fixed period of one year. During this time, they will be expected to successfully complete a Traffic Officer’s Diploma. Upon successful completion of the diploma within the one-year period, Trainee Provincial Inspectors will be employed in a permanent capacity on a 12-month probation as a Provincial Inspector at different Traffic Stations with a starting salary at Level 6 (SALARY: R241,485 per annum).
