The Finance and Operations Directorate of the South African Medical Research Council, which includes Finance, Operations, Supply Chain Management (SCM) and IT, plays an integral support function in enabling the organisation to fulfil and achieve its vision of improving the nation’s health and quality of life by funding and conducting relevant and leading health research.

Responsibilities: Core Requirements:
  • Contracts Administration Management
  • Vendor Management
  • Acquisition Management
  • Supplier Performance Management
  • 3-year National Higher Diploma/National First Degree in a relevant discipline/NQF level 5
  • Knowledge and application of PFMA and Treasury Regulations, Practice Notes, Circulars and other relevant legislative framework;
  • 2 – 3 years’ relevant experience in Supply Chain; with one years of Contract/Supplier Performance experience
  • Professional engagement with senior stakeholders
  • Report writing,
  • Good computer skills
  • Organizing and communication skills.
  • National Treasury CSD Knowledge


  • Knowledge of Supply Chain Management Protocols
  • Vendors contract management and negotiations;
  • JDE Knowledge and SCM ERP systems.

A salary in the region of R233 000 per annum, cost-to-company, will be negotiated in consideration of experience and qualifications.
