Human Resources Assistant: Gauteng Provincial Office

Reports to: Human Resources Practitioner – Gauteng

Job Profile

Working on Fire, a poverty relief programme is seeking to employ an efficient & effective HR
administrator to support and provide service to the HCM department. The successful candidate will be
responsible for performing a variety of human resource support duties. Assisting in maintaining the
human resource database and all employee records and files. You will be required to handle payroll
processing and tracking of all payroll information.

Job Requirements

• Grade 12/matric
• Degree/diploma in human resources (advantage)
• Experience in a HR assistant position (advantage)
• Computer literate
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Valid driver’s licence and own transport (advantage)

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to HR related requests for information and documentation
• File HR related documents as per procedure
• Maintains staff and participant personal files
• Support HR practitioners by producing correspondence, spreadsheets and Accurate professional layout of documentation
• Provide general support to HR functions e.g. scheduling of interviews, HR activities, as per procedure, updating training results, capturing of leave
• Takes minutes of meetings, transcribes, types up and distribute minutes / agendas
• Attend and participate in meetings as required
• Follow up on minute action plan and other deadlines issues
• Maintain integrity when exposed to confidential information salary advises, stationery orders
• Support HCM personnel by providing correspondence, spreadsheets and reports as per defined templates
• Respond to first line enquiries around basic HR issues
• Complete monthly reports regarding terminations, transfers, and new hires.
• Assist with Processing employment verification
• Prepare recruitment lists and job postings.
